"When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where we’ve already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where we’re going, but we will know we want to be there."
The second I came across #3 on Bruce Mau's list, I knew this is what I have been lacking. Oh don't get me wrong, there were countless others that I need to focus on, but #3 spoke to me the most. So many times have I started working on something, but was more concerned about the end result. I never once stopped to think about the process. Yes there is a process, but I never stopped to really let it sink in. The only time I actually slowed down to absorb the process was this road trip I had gone on where I stopped at random points along the way. I had a vague destination, but no real plan on how to get there. Just winged it. Now if I can only apply that to my art work.
